Probably
one of the most robust admin panels I've come across.
Upon login there is 10 main categories to post in or
browse for projects. When you expand the directory of
categories, there is well over 500 sub-categories to
choose from. In the Websites, IT & Software section
alone there is 175 plus niche specific groups, whereas
HTML seems to take the cake with number of active listings
than Link Building as the 2nd most requested
task.
Posting
a project on Freelancer is free and straightforward
where you set your budget for an Hourly or
Fixed Price. Freelancer charges 3% of a project's total
cost to select a worker. If employers elect to pay a
Gold membeship fee of $24.95/Month than they do not
have to pay any project cost fees. For any skill you
tagged as a requirement, only workers who have those
specific skills listed on their profile are allowed
to bid on your project. If you're not in a rush, bidding
period can be prolonged for 60 days til you find the
right match. You could even setup milestone payments
to initiate a project and not pay in full til project
completion. There is also various ways to promote a
listing be it featured, private, sealed or full-time
all of which come with a price. Nevertheless, your listing
would be reviewed by staff for quality assurance purposes
before it goes live.
The
company, based in Australia, is very smart when it comes
to retention. They are actively engaging with their
audience thru prominent announcements on admin panels
and always offering up competition such as cash giveaways
to help better their system. One recent contest in particular
gives away $25,000 to the Freelancer user who best exposes
the Freelancer logo. Their customer support seems to
be on top of any inquiries and questions you may have,;
they even have a full time live chat operator to assist.
It is free for workers to join and bid on projects.
However, workers are charged 10% of the final amount
paid by the employer. The workers' fee can be reduced
to 3% if they become a Gold Member for $24.95 per month.
